Frisch op. 14 title page

Reminiscences à Hérold, Grande Fantaisie op. 14

This work is based on themes from the opera Zampa (1831) by Ferdinand Hérold (1791—1833). Zampa was one of Hérold's most successful operas, and its overture is still in the concert repertoire. He is best known today for the opera Le Pré aux clercs (1832) and the ballet La Fille mal gardée (1828).
